HongKong Day 2
I was right except I didn't know braving the typhoon would be so tiring and people actually DON'T work when there's a typhoon!
I wish Singapore has typhoon so we would always have chances NOT to go work/school.
I think it was still Signal no 3 or 4 when we woke up. Rain, cold wind but I didn't think it's anything uncommon. We had that in Singapore mah.
So to fill our stomach, we went opposite street and decided to try this...
(ps. Get ready for some really unglam photos of mine...)

It is my first taste of authentic HK Cafe and I seriously love this Relax for a While cafe.
My first Buo luo bun! It is absolutely my FAVE!!!!It's so warm, SOFT,FRESH and yummy!!!!! WHY ON EARTH do they have such heavenlicious buo luo pao on earth!??!!! I am seriously not exaggerating when I said their Buo luo paos are nice cos' I did a comparison the next day. (to be comment on the coming entries.)
This is yet another foodie drop from heaven! Initially I thought their french toast are just nice soft bread fried in egg batter but I was wrong! It's more than that. Within the bread are peanut butter which ain't overly sweet or savourly.Everything is just right, just perfect!!
This can make the bulk of us die over and over again and it is still worth it!
What is coming to HK without eating their Chee Cheong Fun right? I forgot what is it..think it's Char Siew CCF(chee cheong fun) and the fillings are so GENEROUS!!
Dunno if you could see the filling in this pict but let me tell you, it is just big lah!

Jason was kinda 'eee-yer-ing' when I actually stuff one big piece of the CCF in my mouth just like that. I made him follow suit and I am amazed by myself how unglam I can be. Or rather how at ease I am with the unglam. Lol.
Fooling around with their bomb like looking cups.

Hehehe.
As I mentioned, food isn't that cheap in HK cafes. For instance, a buo luo pao like that costs around $3.(if we take SGD 5 = HKD 1)

But relax for a while lah. For what it's worth, the food truely rocks!!
We went rake around and I was not so happy to find up that people don't work during typhoon attack. Phooney!!
So Jason and I were joking about typhoon, about umbrellas flying etc...

This (pict) is a joke. I was still fooling around before the wind gets stronger and stronger. Something seems amiss and we decide to quickly head back to the hotel.

Look at what Typhoon NURI did to my brollie. Super funny can? I was laughing like crazy when I took the picture loh.
I forgot what we did after we went to the hotel but I rem' being relatively tired after braving the storm. I just rem' falling asleep and wake up only to hear the typhoon got worse.
I kept whining to Jason until he buay tahan and decided to bring me out.
He said we can try going Central (Zhong Huan) and in hope that shopping centres didn't close.
I quickly jumped out and changed..Instantly becoming human looking once more.
Can't afford to look like shite at Central,ok?

If you think typhoon is just like rain in Singapore, except bigger. You seriously have no idea how draining it is to walk in big rain and wind like that.
Along walking....we found CHARLIE BROWN CAFE!!!!!!

It's so cute!!It's really SUPER ULTRA cute!!!! I was so excited when I stepped in. I rank this behind Disneyland,in terms of my fave part in HK.
I literally went crazy the moment I entered the shop! I was so bouncy (think Tigger) and busy snapping photos of every corner loh.
Without further delay, lemme show you how does Charlie Brown Cafe looks like!

All these display as you walked up the cafe.
This is at CEILING loh! SO farking nice right!!
Display cupboard
Charlie greeted you as you walk in.
I was so overwhelmed with excitement that I forgot that it's typhoon NURI blowing outside. But perhaps thanks to the typhoon, there were very few people in the cafe that time. And that gave me the luxury to behave like some sau gu in the cafe.
Look @ their cakes!!
Freshly baked strawberry Macarons (dunno how to spell lah) going @ HKD 15 each. Nope. I didn't tried it.
Their order counter
Display.
Close up.
Can you say nothing but nice and cosy here?FYI that was not me in the Gents hor. It's Jason.
Of cos' I wouldn't miss up the taking of photos with those Charlie Brown himself.
At the end of the day, you can say I was very happy and wanna thank Von for highlighting the cafe to me.
And I stole alot of their sugar packs back for all of you. =p
We cont'd braving the storm and returned really battered. No 9 typhoon is no play play. There was once I really can't balance myself and thought I would be blew away by that gush of wind when crossing the road.
We were at Central (Zhong Huan) cos' we wanna find H&M. Shops were all closed and rain was very heavy.
Look at that dark alley down. Jason & I wanted to took the short cut down when I slipped at the first few steps. (Note..there is actually no proper steps but rather a slope) Luckily he was holding my hand so I didn't land flat on my butts.
He shook his head and said, "Nvm...we walk the brighter path." KWA..KWA.
Then there this COACH shop. I like the building design.
I was so tired and almost just turned grouchy till we finally settled back for dinner at a warm, average cha chan ting.
I looked so damn shagged after all the wind and rain that I don't even wanna show you guys how I looked.
It is especially cosy and warm to be in a warm eatery under such weather. Of cos' you need something really warm in your tummy too!
I tell you...their fried wanton is SOLID loh.Oily yes but man...can you find me such a nice deep fried wanton elsewhere? Even the simplest luncheon meat soup/rice are so farking nice!!!
Maybe I was cold, I was hungry etc but I seriously LOVE it!
Day 2 might be wasted due to the damn typhoon but friends like Irene, Von and Fyn dropped msges and I feel sooooo touched! Well..at least, I uncovered the Charlie Brown Cafe(Which I would recommend anyone who has not been to,just go in to use their toilets at least.) and experienced typhoon -- A strong one somemore.
Upnext day 3 with half day City tour & OCEAN PARK!
Stay tune. (Now..seriously..give me more days to blog about that. It really is NOT easy.)
Love,
Ling
